One of our aims at UNIQ Snowsports is to proactively build Alpine Skiing participation within the UK. Focusing on the grassroots within schools is something we believe will have a positive impact on the participation of winter sports and thus create more future Olympic hopefuls for Team GB. We strive to educate young people to live a healthy and active lifestyle as well as learning a new skill or sport they can take with them and benefit from for the rest of their lives!

We have worked closely with a number of UK schools, providing exclusive ski training and race support throughout the year. All of our staff are professionally qualified, vastly experienced and hold all the relevant insurance documents. Examples of our services offered to schools are:

UK Based
From May to November we attend various UK events and competitions to provide race support. To give our skiers the best preparation, we can provide regular dry slope and indoor snow dome training sessions in the lead up to these occasions.

International
Training and race support internationally at events such as the Inter-Schools Cup, the ESSKIA races (English Schools Ski Association), and the British School Boys/Girls competitions. Trainees are also given the opportunity to join the team on our additional alpine training events if they wish for extra skiing and race training!

To Who?
We offer our coaching services to year 5 - 6 students, secondary school students, sixth form/college students, as well as providing training opportunities for University students.

SCHOOLS WE WORK WITH

THE GRASS ROUTES TARGET

Supported by the Winter Sports Foundation

UNIQ Snowsports work very closely with the Winter Sports Foundation to aid the number of opportunities for schools and individuals who may not have had the opportunity to experience such sports. This aim has led us to working with local schools offering free ski lessons to students at secondary schools, enabling them to experience new areas of sport and lifestyles. These sessions are structured on a weekly basis to ensure students are taking the right steps to achieving our targets to reach a standard where they are capable of ski holidays and representing their school in sporting competitions.

In an ideal world, every child should be able to take part in a sport of their choice and this shouldn’t be constrained by the costs of the particular sport. Unfortunately, this is not the world we live in. WSF was set up to help increase participation in all winter sports, with the aim to help young, gifted and talented individuals to go further in sport with better access to top class coaching, injury rehabilitation, nutrition, equipment and funding. We definitely think that the WSF is a charity with a difference. It has been set up and is run by winter sports enthusiasts, people with world class knowledge in the areas of finance, sports nutrition, rehabilitation and coaching. We are proud and honoured to be a part of the future upbringing of winter sports and will do our best to fulfil our goals with the WSF grassroots target.
