UNIQ Snowsports is committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy snowsports in a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

We are dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of all participants, including children, young people, adults, and adults at risk across all UNIQ programmes, camps, training sessions, and events. UNIQ Snowsports follows and operates in line with the Snowsport England SnowSafe Safeguarding Policies for both Children & Young People and Adults, which can be found below.

The welfare of children and adults at risk is of paramount importance. While it is not your responsibility to determine whether abuse has occurred, it is your responsibility to report any concerns appropriately.

For children and young people, there is a legal duty of care to report safeguarding concerns, with or without the consent of the child or parent/guardian. For adults, concerns would normally only be reported with consent; however, there are circumstances where concerns may still need to be escalated without consent. In all situations, concerns should be reported to the UNIQ Snowsports Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible.

If you believe a child or adult is in immediate danger, please contact the emergency services on 999 immediately.

Please see below for safeguarding contacts, useful resources, and supporting documentation.

REPORTING AN INCIDENT

At UNIQ Snowsports, we prioritise the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of every individual within our community. Recognising the importance of vigilance in safeguarding, we want to emphasise that it is not your responsibility to determine whether a child or adult has experienced abuse or harm, but it is your responsibility to report any concerns promptly and appropriately.

For children and young people, there is a legal duty of care to report safeguarding concerns, with or without the consent of the child or their parent/guardian. In the case of adults, concerns would normally only be reported with their consent; however, there may be circumstances where informing the Club Welfare Officer is necessary, even without consent.

If you believe that a child or adult is in immediate danger, please contact the police or emergency services immediately by dialling 999.

To report a safeguarding or welfare concern within the UNIQ Snowsports community, please contact Naomi using the details above. All concerns will be treated seriously, sensitively, and confidentially, and appropriate guidance and support will be provided throughout the reporting process.

We appreciate the support, awareness, and vigilance of our athletes, parents, staff, and wider community in helping us maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment for everyone involved in UNIQ Snowsports.
